In the last post I wrote of how living in a van really sucks. There are some easy fixes to these problems though, they might not come often. If thinking about living the van life one day, you should think about taking some of these things into consideration besides drinking enough beers to forget that, yes, you actually live in this thing.

Here's the truth - it kind of sucks.

The amount of support after writing my side of the story of the avalanche has been incredible and all of us (LJ, RC, and myself) appreciate it greatly. That doesn't even include all of the support we have gotten from my two partners as well. It's a good feeling knowing that there are lots of people who care, and more importantly see the importance of why we all decided to share our stories, to learn. After an incident like that though, then what?

(I wrote this while sitting in the hospital 30 minutes after the incident. I rewrote it, 3 days later and I hope that if anything, someone can learn from the mistakes made on this day. Name's are omitted.)

I'm not 100% sure why I'm even writing this, maybe because of the wave of emotions I'm experiencing and I'm not the most outward emotional person, except in my writing. Maybe I'm writing it because I want people to not make the same mistakes that we made.

It has finally happened. I have turned over a new leaf, leaving my old 4 door sedan in exchange for the AWD, 21 mpg, 3rd row seating, designed for a family to drive in not live in, loser-cruiser. I'm not sure that this is what people would consider the American Dream, but it has been mine.
